The Order of Faisal I is a medal issued under Law No. 22 of the Order of King Faisal I on May 11, 1949, with the approval of the Council of Notables and the Council of Representatives. It has three grades, each of which is higher than the corresponding grade of the Order of the Two Rivers. It is awarded to those who render distinguished services to the country or hold high office in the state; these conditions are not required when it is awarded to foreigners. It is awarded on the proposal of the competent minister, by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and by royal decree. It is worn on occasions designated by the Royal Ceremonial Directorate or the Ceremonial Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was made by Garrad&Co.Ltd in London. Some pieces were made by the Huguenin Frerrs of Le Locle company in Switzerland.
