The Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Wounds (Lietuvos kariuomenės medalis „Sužeistajam“) is a Lithuanian military departmental decoration.
The third-highest decoration at the armed forces command level is awarded for wounds sustained while serving in the protection of the state’s sovereignty and the inviolability of its territory, airspace, territorial waters and exclusive economic zone; for wounds sustained while defending the country against external aggression or another armed attack; and for wounds sustained while serving on international missions outside the country.
The medal may be awarded to active-duty soldiers, as well as civil servants and employees of the ministry, who have been injured as a result of enemy action.
The medal is awarded for wounds caused by:
enemy bullets, shrapnel or other projectiles;
the action of enemy mines, booby traps or ambushes;
the action of enemy weapons of warfare: biological, chemical or nuclear;
vehicle accidents (rail, road, air or sea) caused by enemy action.
Concussions and other injuries caused by an explosion triggered by the enemy also qualify for the medal.
