The Darius and Girėnas Medal is a state award of Lithuania, presented to honour persons who have made particularly significant contributions to Lithuanian aviation. The Darius and Girėnas Medal is awarded to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and other countries, as well as to stateless persons.
The Darius and Girėnas Medal is usually awarded on the anniversary of Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas’s 1933 transatlantic flight.
The regulations governing the wearing of state award insignia provide that the Darius and Girėnas Medal is the 41st most important award of the Republic of Lithuania.
