Medal of Meritorious Service to the National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania

The third-highest decoration of the National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania is awarded for courage and sacrifice in the performance of official duties; for service in life-threatening conditions; for personal contribution to commanding units in extreme conditions; for commitment to protecting personnel and military equipment, as well as state property; and for outstanding achievements while serving in international missions abroad.

The medal may be awarded to active-duty soldiers and, in exceptional cases, soldiers of foreign armies.
