The Thiha Thura title is the second-highest award in prestige in the Myanmar Armed Forces, after the Aung San Thuriya title. It is usually awarded to soldiers who, although they do not fully meet the qualifications for the Aung San Thuriya title, display nearly the same qualities by fighting valiantly and making sacrifices for the benefit of the nation in battle, without putting their own lives first.
