The Thura title is an honorary award for bravery in the Myanmar Armed Forces. In terms of prestige, it is the third-highest award, after the Aung San Thuriya and Thiha Thura titles. It is usually awarded to soldiers who, although they do not fully meet the qualifications for the Thiha Thura title, display nearly the same qualities by fighting valiantly and making sacrifices for the benefit of the armed forces in battle, without putting their own lives first.
