Commemorative campaigns medal

The Campaigns Commemorative Medal, established on 30 November 1916 by Decree No. 2870 together with the War Cross, commemorates the campaigns of the Portuguese Armed Forces outside mainland Portugal, primarily in the context of Portugal’s entry into the First World War. The medal is awarded “to military personnel who have served in a campaign situation” (Article 46 of the 2002 Regulations).
