The Medal of Dom Pedro V (Medalha de D. Pedro V) was a medal established by Luís I of Portugal on 15 April 1862 to honour all military personnel who took part in the 1860 expedition to Angola. The medal had three classes:
Gold: for commanders of forces
Silver: for officers and enlisted personnel
Copper: for naval personnel or troops
On one side, the medal bore the image of Dom Pedro V, and on the other the words “Expedition to Angola: 1860”; it was to be worn suspended from a dark-blue ribbon with a yellow border.
