The Medal for the Wounded in Campaign (Medalha dos Feridos em Campanha), established on 28 May 1946, is awarded to military personnel who, during a campaign or in circumstances directly related to one, have suffered a permanent impairment, characterised by damage to or anatomical loss of any organ or function. It is awarded by the Minister of National Defence.
It was originally established as an insignia on 5 October 1918 by Decree No. 4886, consisting of a plain ribbon, under the designation Insignia for the Mutilated and Disabled of War.
