The Decoration for Good Service in the Army (Hæderstegnet for god tjeneste ved Hæren) is a Danish award presented to Army personnel who complete 25 years of service with an unblemished record. The medal was instituted on 26 September 1945, and is therefore awarded only on this date each year.
The medal is made of silver, is round, and bears King Christian X’s monogram with the inscription “26 September 1870” and “For Good Service.” The word “Deserved” is inscribed on the reverse, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves. It is suspended from a red cross-shaped ribbon with a white stripe in the middle. After a total of forty years of service, a gold oak leaf is added to the ribbon.
