The Red Cross Medal Commemorating the Exchange of Prisoners of War in 1953 (Danish: Dansk Røde Kors Mindetegn for Krigsfangeudvekslingen i Korea 1953) is a Danish decoration. The medal commemorates an event during the Korean War, when the Red Cross mediated the exchange of prisoners of war.
The medal, established by the Danish Red Cross on 2 October 1956, was awarded to nine Danish doctors. The Dutchman Marinus Vooren (1889–1980) also received this medal. He was a retired colonel of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (KNIL), and at the time was a member of the executive board of the Netherlands Red Cross.
The partly red-enameled silver decoration is a reissue of the older Commemorative Medal for the Care of Internees 1914–1918, on the reverse of which the text “KOREA KRIGSFANGE UDVEKSLING 1953” has been applied.
