The Commemorative Medal for Aid and Care to the Wounded in the Finnish War of 1939–40 (Herinneringsmedaille voor de Hulp en de Zorg aan de Gewonden in de Finse Oorlog 1939-40) is an award of the Danish Red Cross that was also recognized by the Danish government. This meant that Danes were permitted to accept and wear the medal. Danish volunteers provided assistance to the many wounded in the war between the Soviet Union and Finland. In this so-called Winter War, 39,886 people were wounded on the Finnish side.
The award is worn on the left breast from a red-white-red silk ribbon folded into a pentagon. A ribbon bar may be worn on the left breast.
