The Defence Decoration for Good Service (Danish: Forsvarets hæderstegn for god tjeneste) is a Danish decoration awarded to employees of the Defence who complete 25 years of uninterrupted service with an unblemished record in the Ministry of Defence or its subordinate agencies (excluding the Army, Navy or Air Force). The medal was established on 11 March 1953, and is therefore awarded only on that day each year.
The medal is made of silver, is round, and bears the monogram of King Frederik IX, with the inscription “11 March 1953” and “For Good Service”. The word “Deserved” is inscribed on the reverse, surrounded by an oak-leaf wreath. It is suspended from a red cross ribbon with a white stripe in the middle. After a total of forty years of service, a gold oak leaf is added to the cross ribbon.
