The Defence Medal for Distinguished Service [Forsvarets Medalje for Fremragende Tjeneste] is a Danish military medal.
The medal was instituted in 2010 and may be awarded by the Chief of Defence to soldiers or civilian employees of the Danish Defence who have performed an extraordinary service for the Danish Defence. It may also be awarded to foreign nationals who have performed a particularly extraordinary service for Denmark.
The medal is round and made of silver. The obverse bears the three lions and nine hearts from the national coat of arms, while a year and place surrounded by oak leaves are engraved on the reverse. The medal is suspended from a white cross ribbon with two broad red stripes.
For a further award, a silver oak leaf is attached to the cross ribbon, and for a third award the oak leaf is gold.
