The Commemorative Badge for Christian X (Danish: Kong Christian X’s mindetegn) is a Danish decoration.
The badge was instituted on 26 September 1947, about five months after the death of Christian X, and awarded to members of his household and the military commanders who had served under the late monarch. 26 September was the late king’s birthday.
His son and successor, Frederik IX, instituted a commemorative badge that could be worn on the chest as a brooch. It is a matte silver oval surrounded by two golden laurel branches tied together. The wreath is open at the top. The oval is surmounted by a golden royal crown. The golden royal monogram of the late monarch, “CX”, is affixed to the silver medallion.
The badge is 55 millimetres high and 30 millimetres wide. It weighs just under forty grams. Forty examples were awarded.
Official Danish publications refer to a medal and a badge: Chr.X M. M., or “Kong Christian X’s Mindemedalje”, and Chr.X M. T., or “Kong Christian X’s Mindetegn”.
