The Commemorative Medals of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) were anniversary commemorative medals awarded to mark the tenth (1951), twentieth (1961), thirtieth (1971), fortieth (1981), and fiftieth (1991) anniversaries of the Yugoslav People's Army. They were awarded to all active JNA officers and non-commissioned officers at ceremonies held on Army Day, 22 December. The medals were not created by legal provisions, decisions, or resolutions, but as accompanying decorations. All the medals were made by the Industry and Mint (IKOM) in Zagreb.
In addition to these medals, a commemorative medal for the 30th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism was established in 1975 to mark Victory over Fascism Day.
Like other decorations of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the commemorative medals had ribbon bars, which were placed behind the ribbon bars of other decorations when worn on the uniform. Like other decorations worn on a ribbon, they were worn on the left side of the chest.
